2008: Year of the Ear

Just took Baby Sister to the doctor for her 9 month check (she'll be 10 months next week--oops!). She has a double ear infection AGAIN! This is the second one since January. Here is the best part--dumb mom had no idea that her ears hurt. Talk about lacking observational skills! Those of you that were dying to nominate me as Mother of the Year, I beg you to withdraw your nomination. I really don't deserve it. :) Doctor gave me some stronger antibiotics this time--hopefully that will do the trick. The medicine smells like pastries...yum....hungry time.

Her stats are as follows:
Weight-18.1 pounds (30th %)
Length-27 3/4 inches (45th %)
Head size-17.5 inches (50th %)

So she is a little on the small side but no worries--that girl puts down more food than seems possible. Sometimes you can't get it in front of her fast enough--she lets you know by grunting and growling at you. They say your stomach is the size of your fist so that means her stomach is about the size of an egg. She routinely eats meals that are three times that size. It is crazy.

Also, her top 4 teeth are all coming in at once! They should be popping through any day now. The thing I love about Olivia is that even though she has a double ear infection and 4 teeth coming in at once is that she is so happy. She is always smiling and waving and trying to tackle people. She is a joy to have around and seems to have a positive attitude nearly all the time. It is helpful to me to have such a sweet girl because sometimes Ethan and I really struggle to get through the day. This tempers the stress a bit.

I heard birds chirping today and felt sunshine on my face. It was glorious! Welcome Spring!

Chulie--this is exactly why the county takes your kids away from you! I hope Olivia responds quickly to the new meds. Don't want her flying to Florida with an ear infection. She is the sweetest little girl! BTW--it was good to see her head size was the largest percentage--the one clear vestige of Louwsma genes :)
